Your 24/7 disability care questions answered

24/7 disability care is continuous support in your home, day and night. It’s ideal if you need a higher level of help and want to stay living in your own space.

This type of care can include:

  • Full-time support workers available around the clock
  • Continuous monitoring for safety and wellbeing (such as checking for falls or seizures)
  • Overnight support, including awake or sleepover shifts
  • Help with personal care, medication, and mobility
  • Support with complex care needs or behaviour management.

You choose what works for you. Some people need support all day and night. Others may need overnight care with regular check-ins. We design it around you.

Yes! Our support workers can come to your home to provide round-the-clock care. You don’t need to move into supported or shared accommodation unless that’s what you want.

If you’re looking for accommodation with 24/7 care built in, we can help with that too. Our team can match you with the right housing option.

If you need both accommodation and 24/7 care, there are two NDIS-funded options that might suit you — depending on how long you need support for.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is long-term accommodation with 24/7 support. It’s designed for people with high and complex needs who want to live in a supported home environment.

Short Term Respite (STR) is a short stay (up to 14 days at a time, with a maximum of 28 days per year) with 24/7 support included. It gives you or your family a break, or can help during a transition.

Depending on your available funding, get in touch to learn how these options can work for you.

Our 24/7 care teams are trained to meet high-level needs. This includes training in:

  • Complex care
  • Mental health support
  • Positive Behaviour Support
  • Medication management
  • Using specialist equipment
  • Emergency response

We match you with support workers who have the right skills for your needs. And we work with you and your family to make sure everyone feels comfortable and confident.

NDIS support category: 24/7 disability care is funded under Core Supports in your NDIS plan.

Core Supports are flexible, so you can use your funding for different types of support based on your needs. Chat with your support coordinator or our team if you’re not sure how your funding works.

Please note: We bill in line with the NDIS Price Guide, which generally increases annually.
