What does the Human Rights Advisory Committee do?
We believe in inclusive communities where people with disability have the same opportunities as everyone else to live well.
Our Human Rights Advisory Committee is managed by the Chief Customer Officer. It includes our Human Rights Advisors and Ambassadors, along with participants, supported employees, family members and staff. These are people who are not afraid to tackle the big issues and speak up.
The committee reviews our organisation, shapes policies and holds us accountable on human rights. They also advocate across the broader disability sector to influence change on issues that affect people with disability.
This work connects directly to the Aruma Way, our quality framework built around four goals: Your Way (person-centred support), the Safe Way (keeping everyone safe), the Right Way (support done properly) and Together (working in partnership with you and your support network). The committee helps make sure we live up to these promises.
