Your home. Your say. Support when you need it.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is NDIS funding for daily support in your home. It’s available 24 hours a day and can be shared with housemates.
SIL helps with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking, personal care and building new skills. You can live on your own or share with others who have a disability.
SIL gives you the chance to meet new people, become more independent, and enjoy life your way.
Note: Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is funded separately to SIL in your NDIS plan. SDA pays for the home itself. SIL pays for the support you receive.

Your SIL questions answered
SIL covers the support you need to live well at home. At Aruma we help you with day-to-day tasks like:
- Cleaning and laundry
- Cooking and meal planning
- Personal care like showering and dressing
- Help with medication
- Support with going to appointments
- Learning new skills like catching public transport
- Overnight support if you need it.
We work with you to design a support plan that fits your life and goals.
Great! If you already have a home, we can provide all the in-home support you need. We’ll work with you and your family to create a plan that suits your lifestyle.
SIL may suit you if you:

We take time to learn about who you are and what you like. Then we match you with the right housemates.
Before you move in, we organise meet and greets so you can check out who you’ll be living with. You’ll also meet the Aruma team who will support you. So when the time comes, you’ll already feel right at home.
And if it’s not the right fit, we work with you to find one that is.
Yes! All our customers are part of household routines and decisions. How this works depends on what each household prefers.
For example, in some homes, housemates sit down together each week to make decisions about their home. It’s your home, your say.
If you have high support needs and need a home with specialist features, we have a range of SDA properties. Find out more about Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
NDIS support categories: Supported Independent Living is funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS plan.
The NDIS does not fund the cost of rent, board, transport and other day-to-day expenses like food and activities.
Please note: We bill in line with the NDIS Price Guide, which generally increases annually.
