Aruma is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with a disability.

Statement of accessibility for the Aruma website

Aruma aims to continually improve the user experience for users of all abilities and to apply the relevant accessibility standards throughout our website without exception.

How we support accessibility

To meet this goal:

  • We include accessibility throughout our internal policies and procurement practices
  • We provide continual accessibility training for our staff, adopt clear accessibility targets and responsibilities and employ formal quality assurance methods
  • We ensure people with a disability are represented, their rights upheld and their choices respected in everything we do – it’s our purpose and the reason why we exist.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

The Aruma site is designed to be compatible with modern browsers on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android operating systems, and with NVDA, ZoomText V20 and Voiceover (iOS) accessibility tools. Accessibility features are not fully supported on Internet Explorer 11 (and older).

Technical specifications

The accessibility of the site relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and Javascript to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer.

Limitations

Blog posts may include embedded social media content from other organisations and individuals, and embedded content may include images without text alternatives or other content that may not be fully accessible. We cannot ensure the quality, availability or accessibility standards of this type of embedded content, however we provide contextual descriptions for such content in posts, we monitor the availability of third party content providers and we typically resolve issues under our control within 3 business days. We encourage you to contact us if you encounter an issue that you feel requires attention.

Accessibility Toolbar

Our website includes the Recite Me accessibility toolbar, which provides features such as text-to-speech, reading aids, translation and visual display adjustments. These tools are designed to make our website easier to use for people with different accessibility needs.

Accessibility and Privacy

When the accessibility toolbar is used, limited technical information may be processed to enable the accessibility features. This may include information such as your browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited on our website and the accessibility tools selected. This information is used only to operate the accessibility service and help improve the usability of our website. Some accessibility preferences may be stored in your browser so that your settings remain active during your visit.

The accessibility toolbar is provided by Recite Me Ltd. Some optional features may process limited technical information using service providers located outside Australia. No identifiable personal information is collected or stored as part of this process.
