Our respite services

Everyone needs time to rest and reset and that includes families and carers. Our respite care homes across NSW and VIC provide safe, welcoming environments for both teenagers and adults with disability.

Whether you need a planned short stay, medium-term accommodation while waiting for permanent housing, or emergency support, we design each experience around the person’s needs, routines and goals. Our experienced support teams are trained in complex care, mental health support and positive behaviour support.

We put you at the centre, keep everyone safe, provide effective support, and work in partnership with you, your family and your support network. Respite with Aruma means families get the break they need, while people with disability have meaningful experiences in comfortable, supportive homes.

Short Term Respite (STR)

A home away from home for short stays. Meet new friends, try new activities and enjoy a break, with support that fits your routine. STR gives you a chance to experience something new while families and carers get the rest they need. Stays can be anywhere from one night to a couple of weeks, and you can come back regularly if that works for you.

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)

Waiting for long-term housing? Medium Term Accommodation gives you a safe, comfortable place to stay while you find your forever home. MTA can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, providing stability and support during transition periods.

Respite care for young people

Respite care designed for young people aged 16+ with disability. We create safe, fun environments where kids feel heard and supported — building confidence, skills and friendships along the way.
