Learn new skills at a real cafe. Your way.

Club Aruma Tram Cafe is a fun, hands-on program at the Diamond Creek Tram Cafe, run in partnership with the Rotary Club of Diamond Creek.

It’s a supported role in a real cafe, designed for NDIS participants who want to build skills, confidence and community connections. You don’t need any experience. You go at your own pace, with support that works your way, while having fun and making friends along the way.

What you can get out of it

  • Confidence – Working in a real cafe can help build independence, teamwork and self-confidence.
  • Skills – You can develop everyday and social skills that help you connect with others and manage daily tasks with ease.
  • Experience – You’ll get hands-on experience in a real cafe environment, which can be a great stepping stone if work is one of your future goals.

Yes. You’ll need NDIS funding to take part, and most people use their Capacity Building or Core funding. Funding can be flexible, so the best first step is to give us a call. Our friendly team can chat through your plan and work out what’s possible for you.

Capacity building is one of three support budgets in your NDIS plan. It helps you build skills and independence for the long term.

Unlike Core supports (which help with everyday needs), Capacity Building supports focus on helping you learn new things and become more independent over time.

This includes skills like cooking, budgeting, catching public transport, building social connections, and preparing for work.

Core supports help with your everyday needs right now. They’re flexible and can be used across different areas of daily life.

Capacity building supports help you learn new skills and grow your independence over time. The funding in each capacity building category can only be used in that specific category.

Both types of funding work together to help you live your best life.
