The energy at Wyong Leagues Club was electric in September, and not just because of the grand final action. The loudest, proudest cheers came from the sidelines, where Scott and Madison excitedly watched their support worker, Max Trueman, take to the field with the Entrance Tigers.

When Max joined Aruma, he had no prior experience in disability support, but that didn’t hold him back. With his positive attitude and genuine care, Max quickly became a much-loved support worker, trusted and respected by the people he supports, their families, and his fellow team members.

Scott and Madison live in one of Aruma’s Supported Independent Living homes on the Central Coast, where Max is part of their regular support team. On grand final day, they were joined by support workers Mitch and Santosh, proudly forming a passionate Aruma cheer squad.

“Max could hear them cheering from the sidelines. He said it was the best feeling,” says Stephen Crouch, Manager Shared Living – Central Coast.

And what a match it was. From the first kick-off, it was a tough match, but Max and his Tigers teammates rose to the challenge, working together to claim a well-earned victory.

For Max, hearing the people he supports cheering for him made the win extra special.

Congratulations Max! And hats off to Scott, Madison, Mitch and Santosh for showing what being part of the Aruma community is all about: lifting each other up, celebrating every win, and being there when it matters most.

At Aruma, we’re more than just a disability service provider, we’re a community. Whether it’s Supported Independent Living, daily supports, or finding the right support worker match, we’re here to help people live the life they choose.
