Part of the Aruma Way Quality Framework, the Right Way goal is all about how we deliver safe, high quality and effective supports for our participants.

It means the people we support are at the centre of decisions and actions, that we are delivering support in line with participant goals and plans, and making sure staff have the skills, tools and information they need to provide the right type of support.

The Right Way is knowing what action to take when we see something isn’t right and a commitment to use feedback and learnings to drive continuous improvement.

The Right Way commitments

At Aruma, we are committed to delivering support and services The Right Way. This means that:

  • Staff have access to the tools, equipment and systems needed to deliver effective support
  • Support is compliant and delivered in line with best practice, based on evidence and research
  • Support provided is in line with the documented plans of the people we support
  • Support is planned and implemented with the people we support and the people important to them to enable them to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life
  • Support is well-coordinated, transparent and consistent, with changes clearly communicated
  • The people we support are at the centre of everything we do
  • The people we support are empowered to speak up when something isn’t right

We spoke to Human Rights Advisory Committee member Nell Tyler and asked: “What does The Right Way mean to you?”
