group excursions and activities for people with disability

real connections. real adventures. your way.

Get out, explore, and have fun with people who get you

Our group adventures take you out into the community for the experiences you want to have. Whether it’s cheering on your footy team, catching a concert, or exploring somewhere new, we make it happen.

Our disability groups are small and supportive. You’ll be with trained staff who understand your needs and people your age who share your interests. Everyone is welcome, and everyone belongs.

We also run age-appropriate programs for younger participants who want to socialise and connect with peers.

Choose your adventure

We run several community-based disability groups you can join. Each one is designed around different interests and vibes.

Your group excursions questions answered

Group excursions are community-based outings and activities you do with others. Unlike day programs that take place at a Club Aruma hub, group excursions happen out in the community.

You might attend a sports game, go dancing at a local club, volunteer together, visit landmarks, or try something completely new. It’s about getting out, having fun, and building friendships along the way.

Yes! Our Club Aruma day programs run Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, at our hubs across NSW, VIC and QLD. You can join group activities, try new things, and connect with others in a safe, welcoming space.

Yes! If you prefer a dedicated support worker to help you get out and about on your own terms, we offer one-on-one community support. You choose what you want to do, where you want to go, and how often you need support.

Learn more about one-on-one community support

Group excursions take place out in the community. They can be one-off events or regular programs where groups do activities together, like attending a sports game, dancing at a local club, volunteering, or visiting landmarks.

Day programs take place at one of our Club Aruma hubs. They run on set days with a calendar of activities, workshops and social events.

Some people choose one or the other. Others enjoy a mix of both. It’s whatever suits you best.

Yes. Aruma is a specialised complex care NDIS service provider. We invest in quality training for our teams and work to uphold safeguarding and practice excellence in complex care support for people with specific care needs.

NDIS support category: Group excursions can be funded under two areas of your NDIS plan:

Core Supports — Assistance with Social and Community Participation This funding helps with day-to-day support to take part in community, social and recreational activities. Core supports are flexible, so you can use this funding based on your needs.

Capacity Building Supports — Increased Social and Community Participation This funding helps you develop skills to participate in your community more independently over time. It’s focused on building your confidence and abilities for the future.

Chat to our team if you’re not sure how your funding works.

Please note: We bill in line with the NDIS Price Guide, which generally increases annually.
