Chris Mcglenchy, Executive General Manager Shared Living was on the road recently, taking the opportunity to visit our homes and hubs in ACT when he saw Danny, a resident in Queanbeyan hanging washing to dry in the fresh air.
Chris, being a self-described ‘basketball tragic’ picked up a nearby ball and invited Danny for a quick game.
Danny initially declined the offer and as he went to leave, saw Chris take a few shots.
A moment later, Danny reappeared, this time carrying a second basketball. From there, the pair enjoyed a game of one on one.
Both Chris and the Regional Manager, Stephen were amazed when Danny stood with his back to the hoop and threw the ball over his head, sinking the shot perfectly.
It was later revealed that Danny is a bit of a local basketball legend, as he joins a local team every week, which made the moment even more meaningful.
