For Paige Hadley, her career in Children’s Services has grown from supporting young people to leading the teams that support them. Since starting as a youth worker in 2017, she has built her practice around understanding young people’s experiences and providing positive, person-centred care.
Paige joined Aruma as a casual support worker in 2023 and became a Children’s Service Manager just two years later. Today, she continues to support the Ipswich region, helping teams understand what sits behind behaviours and how to respond to young people’s needs.
Her experience has shown her that growth is about more than a new role. It is also about learning how to create safer, more engaging environments for young people while reducing risks for staff.
“I have been supported to learn how to stay curious about our young people and understand what is showing up for them during some of the most difficult times in their journeys,” said Paige.
For Paige, her commitment to out-of-home care remains rooted in a passion for supporting young people and continuing to learn.
“Learning encourages curious thinking, growth and opportunities to achieve amazing outcomes for the young people we support,” said Paige.
