Aruma CEO Martin Laverty and Supported Employee, Rhiannon Collins were interviewed by ABC Newcastle on the importance of dignity of work following the Human Rights Conference at Warabrook on 29 October.

Every person deserves the opportunity to work, build skills and contribute. This was the message Aruma CEO, Martin Laverty and Supported Employee, Rhiannon Collins shared in an interview with journalist Cecilia Connell on ABC Newcastle Drive following the Warabrook leg of the Human Rights Conference last week.

Rhiannon spoke about developing her skills over her 18 years with Aruma, from basic typing to invoicing and credit card reporting as a receptionist at Warabrook.

Her call to employers was clear: give people with disability a chance and think outside the box.

Martin echoed this encouragement to businesses in the region, calling on them to visit one of Aruma’s businesses and reach out to see how we can work together to give some of the more than 8,000 job-ready people with disability a chance to find meaningful employment.
