Matt, an Aruma participant, lives on the Sunshine Coast and has always loved flying.
He started flying with his father at a young age and so trips to the airport to watch the different planes take off and land is his favourite pastime.
A couple of times a year Matt has the opportunity to take off from the Caloundra Airport accompanied by a pilot. Once the plane is in the air, Matt is given the controls and then it’s just him and the wide blue skies.
It’s a wonderful experience that Matt cherishes and looks forward to throughout the year, and his Support Worker Suman was able to witness (from the ground) for the first time this year.
If you’re in the area and you happen to see a light plane take off with the happiest co-pilot in the cockpit, it might be Matt, give him a wave!
