Aruma’s 2026 Human Rights Conference roadshow has completed its first stop in Forbes, launching a new, more local event style that will continue across three locations over the next three months.

Built around this year’s theme, Beyond Inclusion: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures, the format brings the conversation directly to Aruma’s communities celebrating lived experience, local stories and practical examples of inclusive employment.

In Forbes, Aruma employees from Aussie Biscuits and Facilities Management shared what meaningful work means to them, while attendees learned how the Work Ready Program and supported employment build skills, confidence and pathways into open employment. The event also celebrated 50 years of Aussie Biscuits.

Gemma Croxen, Head of Marketing said, “my highlight from the event was hearing our supported employees from Aussie Biscuits and Facilities Management explain how work builds confidence, mateship, skills and fulfilment. It really reinforced why we must create opportunities for every person with disability who wants to work.”

Where to next?

The roadshow now moves to Newcastle, Alstonville and Sydney, where the same community-focused, story-led format will continue to connect people with disability, families, employers, service providers and advocates.
