From Minto to Tamworth, Aruma’s footy fever has been off the charts! Two incredible events brought together our participants, teams, and even a NRL legend to celebrate the spirit of the game.
At our NRL party, hosted by the amazing crew at our Minto Supported Independent Living house, the atmosphere was electric. From personalised gift bags for each participant to colourful decorations supporting the teams, no detail was overlooked.
Our team pulled out all the stops, cooking up a storm on the BBQ, creating a safe and inclusive space, and even sourcing official merch from NRL clubs to make the day extra special. There was laughter, cheering, and team colours as far as the eye could see.
“A true sign of a great event is when people don’t want to leave and that was absolutely the energy at the party,” says Yasmin Alameddin, Aruma’s Regional Manager of Home & Living – Sydney North.
Meanwhile, over at Club Aruma in Tamworth, the excitement kicked up another notch when NRL legend Nathan Blacklock dropped by. As a former St George Illawarra Dragons player, Nathan presented the footy tipping awards.
Big congrats to our top three winners: Greg, Toni, and Michael, and a special mention to Andrew, proud recipient of this year’s wooden spoon. It was a day full of laughs, celebration, and footy banter, with plenty of photos taken and memories made.

Whether you’re cheering on your favourite team or just love a good get-together, these events show what Aruma is all about: connection, community, and supporting people with disability to do what they love.
