Cody, a resident at our Supported Independent Living home on the Gold Coast, and a representative on our Human Rights Advisory Committee, is quite the home cook.

Over the past year, he’s trialled around 20 new and different recipes from a range of cultural backgrounds.

Cody transitioned from Aruma Children’s Services to Adult Home and Living almost six years ago, and initially Cody had quite limited cooking skills.

With the support of his team, Cody can cook most meals independently and is a hit with his housemates and Support Workers when it comes to cooking up a feast.

He has also completed a Cert 2 in Hospitality to further his skills and works at Hungry Jacks one to two days per week. One day, he would perhaps like to use his cooking skills in his own business.

Way to go, Cody. The culinary world is watching!
