Breaking barriers and building futures in Newcastle

Our Human Rights Conference roadshow made its second stop last week, and this time we pulled up a chair on the workshop floor.

Our theme, Beyond Inclusion, is all about employment as a human right, and there’s no better place to see that in action than where the work happens.

Arumies from Manufacturing, Laundry, Facilities Management and Work Ready joined local community members and businesses to talk about real pathways into work. Dave, Mitchell, Craig, Paul, Ellen, Rhiannon and Christine shared their journeys into jobs they’re proud of.

“We want to tackle those barriers and ensure there’s opportunity for anyone to get a job that they can love, and for employers to get great, talented people to help them in their business,” said Martin Laverty, Aruma CEO.
