Wayne is a supported independent living resident in Bayswater Townsville and a passionate fan of anything and everything related to buses, especially Greyhound buses.
Wayne’s favourite days are those spent at the Greyhound bus depot, chatting to the drivers while they show him the ins and outs of the vehicles.
Wayne’s extensive knowledge of the buses, how they work and the various models will have even the most bus-savvy person impressed.
This year, Wayne’s team supported him to budget and research locations, dates and times so that at any given moment, Wayne would have the opportunity to choose the right Greyhound for a special trip.
In November, Wayne’s patient planning and waiting paid off, and he was on his way from Townsville to Ingham, travelling with his support worker, Thomas, aboard a Greyhound bus.
Wayne thoroughly enjoyed the two-hour return trip, spending his time in Ingham exploring the town and enjoying everything it had to offer before it was time to board the bus again for his second favourite part of the trip – the bus ride home.
