Communication support that sees your child first

Speech Pathology that meets your family where you are

At Aruma, our speech pathologists help children take part fully in their daily lives. We support communication skills, eating and swallowing, working alongside families to build on what your child can already do.

Every child communicates in their own way. Some use spoken words, others use gestures, sign language or tools to help them communicate. Our speech pathologists create plans made just for your child to help them connect with the world around them.

Our therapists work in your home, your child’s early learning centre, or at our clinics. Wherever your child feels most comfortable. Everything we do is based on your child’s interests, helping them build confidence while reaching their learning goals.

Your child’s needs will change as they grow. Our support changes with them. From early therapy to school transition supports, we walk beside you every step of the way.

Speech Pathology can help your child with communication, speech, language, literacy, eating, drinking and swallowing. A speech pathologist works with children who may have difficulty being understood, understanding others, or who have challenges with mealtimes.

We work alongside families to understand your child’s unique strengths and needs. We provide coaching and support so you can help your child practise new skills at home and in everyday settings. Your involvement is key to your child’s success.

Our therapists work in your home, your child’s early learning centre, or at our clinics. Wherever your child feels most comfortable. Everything we do is tailored to your child’s interests, helping them build confidence while reaching their developmental goals.

Yes. Our team can help you plan for changes, visit childcare, preschool or school with your child, support educators in creating an environment where your child can thrive, and provide ongoing assistance during the transition period.

Support for eating and drinking – Mealtimes are important opportunities for connection and inclusion. Aruma’s speech pathologists work with families to address feeding challenges, making mealtimes safe and enjoyable for your child.

Support may include:

  • Addressing challenges like coughing, gagging or difficulty chewing
  • Helping your child move to different food textures
  • Expanding your child’s food preferences for a more varied diet
  • Supporting infant feeding, including bottle feeding and the introduction of solid foods

Our approach is tailored to your child’s specific needs, promoting independence and positive participation in family routines.

The NDIS funds Therapy and Clinical Supports, including Speech Pathology. For children aged 0-9 years, our team specialises in delivering the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach, designed to build your child’s skills and participation in everyday activities while supporting you and your family.
