Your questions answered

Occupational Therapy helps people build on their strengths and take part more fully in activities that matter to them. It’s about supporting independence, building confidence and meaningful engagement in daily life.

For adults, Occupational Therapy can be a key part of building independence at home, at work and in the community.

Occupational Therapy focuses on helping you take part in activities that are important to you, including:

  • Dressing: Building skills to dress independently and confidently
  • Shopping: Taking part in community life by managing shopping trips
  • Self-care: Looking after yourself with dignity
  • Sports and hobbies: Doing the things that bring you joy
  • Work and driving: Working towards your goals for employment and getting around
  • Community participation: Connecting with others and being part of your community

Our goal is to help you thrive in the activities that are meaningful to you.

Every person is unique, and so are the supports we provide. Your therapy plan will focus on functional outcomes and participation, such as:

  • Skill development: Building independence in daily living activities like cooking, laundry and shopping
  • Assistive technology: Recommending tools like wheelchairs, hoists or dressing aids to support your participation
  • Home modifications: Working with you and builders to create accessible, functional spaces in your home
  • Reports and assessments: Documenting your progress and identifying ways to continue building on your strengths
  • Sensory needs: Understanding your sensory needs and how they impact your everyday life

Our services are tailored to your goals, helping you take part in the activities that bring meaning to your life.

Yes. Home modifications can make everyday tasks more accessible and safer, supporting greater independence. Examples include:

  • Installing ramps and rails
  • Modifying bathrooms and kitchens for ease of use
  • Widening doorways to improve mobility access
  • Adding smart home technology for convenience and safety
  • Prescribing non-slip flooring or ceiling hoists for added functionality

We work with you to create a home environment that supports your participation and independence.

We start by getting to know you and what matters most in your life. Our occupational therapists complete an assessment to understand your current abilities and any challenges you face. From there, we co-design a plan built around your goals.

Every session, every plan, every conversation is a partnership where we work together to understand you.

The NDIS provides funding for Therapy Supports. The most common NDIS category of support for Occupational Therapy is Improved Daily Living.

We bill in line with the NDIS Price Guide, which is updated every year.
