A safe home when families need extra support

Out of home care that puts each child first

Out of home care is an alternative home for children and young people with a disability who are unable to live with their parents. In most cases, children in out of home care are on a care agreement or protection order.

There are many reasons children and young people are unable to live with their families. But all children have the right to be and feel safe, all the time.

Under our care, children receive nurturing, therapeutic and trauma-informed support. We help them reach their goals, reconnect with family when possible, and feel safe. We are here to listen, create opportunities for them to have a voice, and support them to live their best life.

Where is out of home care available?

In Queensland, we offer non-family based out of home care services for both children and young people with a disability who are temporarily or permanently unable to live at home.

This includes preparing young adults who are turning 18 to exit care and transition to life as an adult living in NDIS funded supported living.
