The Festival of FUN certainly lived up to its name, bringing the community together on the Gold Coast for a bright, welcoming day of entertainment, activities and connection earlier this month.
Designed with accessibility at its heart, the free community event, hosted by ARHG Foundation and a number of community partners made space for everyone to join in. With a special focus on ensuring people with disability, families, carers and supporters could enjoy the day in a safe, inclusive and fun environment.
Across the festival, there was something for every interest and energy level. Visitors could enjoy a live concert, explore the business expo, get involved at the Northcott Try Me Sports Arena, sing along at karaoke, visit the fun fair, meet animals at the petting farm and get up close with the reptile display.
As a proud event partner, the Aruma Information Stall, hosted by the Lauren from the Aruma Work Ready Team, was busy across the day as visitors stopped by to say hello, ask questions and learn more about Aruma’s services.
Another important part of the day was Calm Cove, a quiet, sensory-friendly space supported by team members from the Aruma, including Ming, Rachael and Amrit. It offered families a calm place to pause, reset and feel supported while still being close to the fun.
On the main stage, the Aruma Burleigh Hub Crew added their own sparkle to the day through the Talent Quest, delivering a performance that earned them the “You Lit Up the Stage” Award.
A special thank you goes to the team from the Aruma Work Ready Team, Aruma Business Development Partners and Aruma Burleigh Hub team, the dedicated support workers and everyone who helped bring the day to life.
