Leading disability provider Aruma and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provider SDA Living Australia recently invited Sale locals to tour a new home

The brand new two-bedroom, two-bathroom home on Raglan Street was recently competed and on show for prospective residents, complete with a guided tour and information on what in-home support participants will receive.

Aruma participant, Michael, recently moved into another SDA home in Sale and the feedback has been nothing but positive.

Michael’s mum Gail said: “What appealed to me most is the homeliness of the new house, it feels like Mikie’s just in a normal home.”

Speaking about the transition to the new home, she said: “The team kept the routine consistent which made the process so much easier on Mikie, knowing he was moving into his room settled and he was nice and comfortable gave such peace of mind.

“I am also very grateful for Aruma’s strong policies and processes; this has been integral in the strengthening of my trust that my son is in the best care.”

Toula Moustakas, National General Manager, SDA Living Australia said: “When we began planning this new home, we looked beyond the building itself, considering its proximity to local services, transport, community facilities and everyday amenities because these are the things that help people stay connected and continue participating in their local community.”

“Outcomes like this are only possible when everyone involved shares a commitment to putting the resident first, and we’re pleased to have worked alongside Michael, Aruma and his support network to help make this move possible,” she said.

The home features a range of state-of-the-art features such as:

  • Wheelchair accessible throughout, with wide door frames and wide pathways
  • Extra-large open-plan living, dining and kitchen, plus a separate rumpus room
  • Accessible kitchen and appliances
  • Fire sprinklers throughout for peace of mind
  • Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for added reliability
  • Onsite Overnight Assistance (OOA) bedroom with private ensuite
  • Larger than standard SDA bedrooms give each resident their own generous retreat.
