Our Diversity and Inclusion Project has six focus groups, each focused on a different area of inclusion and representation.
The People with Disability Focus Group aims to make Aruma and the community more accessible and inclusive.
“We believe everyone should be valued, listened to and supported to live the life they choose. The group gives members a voice in decisions, policies and workplace experiences. Together, we can make Aruma a place where everyone feels included and belongs,” said Judy Topper, Human Rights Lead.
The group advocates for equal opportunities for people with disability by sharing lived experiences and ensuring those voices are heard in decision-making.
A goal of the group is to produce short videos throughout the year discussing various topics of interest.
As we focus on ‘The Safe Way’ this quarter, for the first video in the series, Olivia and James discuss Restrictive Practices and the impact this can have on participants.
