Calm Cove is a sensory-friendly pop-up that offers a live brand and wellbeing experience at a range of community events – and wow is it popular.
Calm Cove creates a low stimuli, calming space where everyone is welcome to take a minute to reset away from crowds and busy events. The idea came about to make events more accessible and inclusive for people with disability – and the event kit has been booked out ever since.
The marquee often features a sea life theme and is usually staffed by Behavioural Support Practitioners and Business Development Partners (however it can be event and availability dependent) to create a calm, sensory-friendly space where people can take a minute to reset and regulate themselves before heading back out to enjoy the event.
Popping up in Mildura recently, Anthony Dimo, Regional Business Development Manager said: “We enjoyed representing Aruma at the Sunraysia Market in March. We had the opportunity to talk to our visitors around the supports and services that we offer and welcome people into Calm Cove which was a very popular experience.”
With a pop up planned in Queensland and Bendigo this month, and further events lined up with major partners like Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, there’s a chance you will see Calm Cove at an event near you in the future.
