A 28-year-old participant from Queensland recently achieved a personal goal of visiting the beach. Water is an important sensory activity that helps with his regulation and one of his strong interests.

For many, a trip to the beach is an essential summer activity. But for one of our participants, it’s been something he has been unable to do since childhood. In the past, leaving the house was very limited due to challenging behaviours.

With a consistent support team focused on helping him achieve his goals, the team planned the outing The Safe Way – considering location, transport, behaviour management and other external factors to keep everyone safe.

Upon arrival, squeals of delight were the first sign the team had achieved the goal, together. The outing was a very positive and meaningful experience, and the support team were thrilled to be able to not only help meet a goal but reconnect a participant with an activity he loves.

Congratulations team.
