Aussie Biscuits, a business owned by leading disability charity, Aruma, has partnered with Red Cross Lifeblood to offer a sweet treat to blood donors this Christmas period.
A social enterprise that employs more than 30 people with a disability, Aussie Biscuits bakes more than 60,000 delicious biccies each day. A special delivery of shortbreads in festive Christmas packaging is on its way to 82 Lifeblood centres across Australia from 1 December.
Donors will be able to grab a cookie on their way through reception at any Lifeblood centre and see for themselves what makes Aussie Biscuits an Aussie favourite.
“We’re incredibly proud of this partnership. As a social enterprise, we make biccies with purpose by providing meaningful employment to people with a disability, and so it feels like a natural fit to partner with Lifeblood, who work with donors, communities and health providers for life-changing outcomes,” said Dylan Omalley, General Manager Employment, Aruma.
With the festive season fast approaching, Lifeblood is encouraging donors to roll up their sleeves to increase supplies ahead of the holiday period and an extra sweet treat might just seal the deal.
About Aussie Biscuits
Aussie Biscuits has been an Aruma business for over 40 years, providing employment for people with a disability at our biscuit factory in Forbes, in regional NSW. From humble beginnings in 1976, Aussie Biscuits’ employees hand-made 600 Jam Drops every workday. Today, we produce thousands of biscuits a day in six flavours – still made with care – for the retail market, hospitality industry and fundraising groups.
Our vision is to become Australia’s biscuit of choice for hospitality businesses, clubs and of course everyday Australians.
