Onsite Shared Support (OSS)

Onsite Shared Supports (OSS) offers additional support to your scheduled support services, providing 24/7 assistance in your Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).

Live independently with confidence

Help is always nearby

Aruma’s Onsite Shared Supports (OSS) offers flexible shared support services to individuals living independently within a clustered SDA environment, such as apartment complexes or housing precincts.

Need help getting ready, reheating a meal, an extra set of hands for personal care, hoisting, or just a quick check-in for peace of mind? OSS has you covered – 24/7.

OSS is designed to complement your scheduled services and ensure you get the right support at the right time, without the high costs of one-on-one care.

You can live independently with confidence, knowing help is always nearby!

Key Features of OSS

  • 24/7 availability for unplanned needs
  • Flexibility: Most supports are unscheduled and available on-call, but certain tasks like daily check-ins can be scheduled in advance
  • Enhanced safety and security
  • Choice and Control: OSS allows you to separate your housing provider from your support provider and scheduled planned supports, giving you greater independence and autonomy over your living and support arrangements

How does Onsite Shared Support work?

OSS is a way of pooling your resources with your neighbours or house/flat mates. It’s a way of combining your supports with other residents, to give you access to supports over a longer period of time.

This may be based in a dedicated apartment or hub within your building or nearby, allowing easy access to support when needed via phone, iPad, nurse call systems, or in-person visits.

What can Onsite Shared Support help with?

OSS provides 24/7 assistance for unplanned or incidental tasks, including:

  • Personal care, such as getting out of bed or going to bed at times that suit you
  • Mobility and accessibility assistance e.g. hoist transfers or 2nd person assist when needed
  • Emergency and Crisis Support
  • Medication assistance
  • Last minute support for changes in routine
  • Reheating meals or cleaning up spills
  • Daily check-ins for reassurance
  • Shared overnight support for peace of mind

OSS complements your scheduled supports services.

Available 24/7: OSS operates around the clock.

How is OSS funded?

OSS is funded under your Core Supports using a shared-cost model with other tenants in your SDA.

How to contact OSS

Depending on the setup in your building, you can request support by:
