Aruma is a child-safe organisation, committed to the wellbeing of children and young people.

Our commitment

As a child-safe organisation, Aruma is committed to children and young people’s safety, wellbeing and preventing physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, neglect, or harm of any kind.

We know it is critical to have a child safe culture, and the safety and welfare of all children and young people, including those from diverse backgrounds, is our top priority.

Our staff, who work directly or indirectly with children and young people, understand their role in proactively keeping children and young people safe.

We create environments where children and young people can:

  • Experience genuine engagement
  • Thrive
  • Reach their full potential
  • Openly and safely talk about their worries and concerns, and
  • Be culturally safe, through a continual process of reflection together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and communities.
