Get hands-on experience

Aruma (formerly House with No Steps and The Tipping Foundation) is a disability service provider, but we’re also so much more. We’re the trusted partner of just over 4,000 people with a disability throughout the east coast of Australia.

If you want to be part of Aruma’s story, and gain valuable work experience, we offer a limited number of work experience placements for secondary school students interested in a career working with people with a disability.

These placements are available in six locations:

  • Metropolitan Sydney
  • Wollongong
  • Newcastle
  • Forbes
  • Alstonville
  • Burleigh Heads.

Tertiary student placement program

For students studying at TAFE or University, Aruma offers a limited number of spots in our student placement program.

Such placements may be available for the following areas of study:

  • Disability studies
  • Nursing medicine
  • Social work
  • Health sciences including occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology
  • Other relevant areas.

Opportunities may also be available for part-time, casual work, internships and traineeships.
