Speech Pathology

Did you know, Speech Pathology may help with a child’s communication challenges? It can also support feeding difficulties in children such as swallowing.

Speech Pathology services at Aruma

At Aruma (formerly House with No Steps and The Tipping Foundation), our Speech Pathologists work with children with communication, eating and swallowing difficulties. This includes kids with a developmental delay or disability.

How may speech pathology benefit a child’s communication skills?

There are many ways a child may communicate. Whether through speech, voice, sign language or an assistive device to express language.

Aruma Speech Pathologists can tailor support to your child’s unique needs. This could include help with

  • Communicating with others
  • Using and understanding words and sentences
  • Improving speech clarity and sound production
  • Listening, understanding, and following directions
  • Learning new ways to communicate, like sign language or using an communication device.

Better communication is not only about words.  It can allow a child to express themselves more effectively, which could reduce frustration, social isolation, and anxiety.  Which in turn may have a positive impact on their social skills and confidence.

After age 9, your child may qualify for an NDIS package. We are happy to assist you with supporting funding applications for your child.
