Our Human Rights Advisory Committee got together to explain what Human Rights are and how they affect people with a disability.
Aruma is a Human Rights organisation that provides disability supports. But what does that mean?
Technically it means we support the 30 Human Rights of the UN Declaration of Human Rights charter. But practically, it means we offer choice and control, for our customers to choose the life they want and control the decisions in their life.
To help us all understand what impact this has, a group of our Aruma Human Rights Advisory Committee got together to explain what Human Rights are and how they affect people with a disability.

The world has changed and things have improved for people with a disability but there is still more we can do.
We should focus on what we have in common not our differences. By working together for the greater good we can create permanent change.
At Aruma, we believe all people should be treated equally, with freedom of choice, dignity and respect. By focussing on our humanness and allowing people with a disability to make an impact with their uniqueness, we can make a positive difference in the world.
After you check out the video have a think about how you can, and already do, make a difference.
