Our Facility Services team in Brisbane is expanding, and we are on the lookout for new supported employees.
With four new contracts across Brisbane to keep every week exciting, if you’ve been thinking about trying Facility Services, this is your sign.
“We currently have contracts with the Brisbane City Council, Telstra, our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes and have recently gained work with the local cemeteries,” said Employment Support Advisor, Jenny Wood.
Don’t worry, the work is not as scary as you might think, and you’ll be working during the daylight hours 😉
Facility services cover everything from ground maintenance, commercial cleaning, graffiti removal, electrical testing, and more. If you love the outdoors, enjoy keeping your hands busy, and have always wanted to meet Casper, the friendly ghost, this is the role for you.
“We’re looking for customers who are ready to become supported employees. If they have experience in facility services, that’s great, but not necessary. We’re looking for people who are keen to learn and not afraid of hard work as those are qualities you can’t teach,” continued Jenny.
Our facility services team works hard and plays hard. With breakfast or lunch barbecues as well as team-building days like bowling or going to the movies, there is a real community aspect to supported employment.
“The teams have so much fun together, and it’s a great way to meet new people and make friends. Even when they work on the SIL houses, if they don’t know the residents when they first get there, they do by the end of the day. Everyone is so friendly, and it’s a great environment,” said Jenny.
No specific skills or experiences are required to join our Supported Employment team, but once you’re in, there are opportunities for upskilling.
Supported Employees can gain their white card, first aid certificate, or even earn their certification for chemical weed spraying.
