Looking good Wyoming hub

The Aruma Hub on the central coast of New South Wales reopens after getting a $320K facelift, and the site has never looked better.

After four months of closures, our Wyoming hub is back (and better than ever) thanks to some much-needed renovations. The team opened the doors and welcomed new and familiar faces with a very special open day at the end of August.

“Opening day was a huge success! We had many current customers and families attend and local support coordinators who brought potential new customers. The families that have been around for a long time were ecstatic about the changes, and everyone commented on how welcoming the new site feels,” said Community Manager, Sarah Donald.

Aruma Hubs offer Social and Community Participation services that encourage you to meet people, try new things and have fun!

The day’s highlights were our customer Nathan doing the welcome to country and seeing everyone back together again.

“Nathan felt so special! He practiced his speech all night and even the morning before. We’re very proud of him and all the customers who have stuck with us throughout the renovations,” continued Sarah.

Since the open day, Sarah has hosted a site tour for parents from the local high school and has had three new customer enquiries from locals looking to start at the Hub soon.

With brand new fully accessible bathrooms, a sparkling kitchen, widened doorways, and ramps, all topped off with a new roof – the site is almost unrecognisable.

“The site was due for some TLC, like a new coat of paint and accessibility upgrades. We had been talking about it for years. We never expected this result, and it has been well worth the wait,” continued Sarah.

CEO Martin Laverty said, “We take great pride in our hub, which has been an active focal point in supporting our customers’ general health and wellbeing. The new-look hub incorporates improved access and space for people with a disability so it can continue its role as a vibrant social centre for our community in the Central Coast.”

The Department of Communities and Justice generously funded the $320,000 refurbishment, which the team is very grateful for.

We also invited NBN News, ABC Central Coast and Coast Community News to stop by and check out the new space.

We’re looking forward to seeing our customers make many new memories at Wyoming Hub.
