Check out our customer Grant's brilliant cooking skills!
Our customer, Grant, loves to cook and decided to make something tasty to share with housemates at his Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Cowra NSW recently.
From the start, Grant had a vision for what he wanted to create, pointing to ingredients in the fridge and pantry that he wanted to use. Support Worker, Rebecca, helped Grant reach the ingredients, which included eggs, cheese, leftover roast beef, milk, tomatoes, onions, flour, and herbs.
That sounds like a winning combination to us!
Grant and Rebecca then discussed what recipes they could cook with the ingredients they had. The pair decided on a frittata and beef fritters because who doesn’t love a fritter?

It’s important to do activities like this as it helps our customers develop a wide range of skills and fosters their independence. It also helps greatly with their confidence, says Rebecca.

The frittata and beef fritters received rave reviews from customers and staff alike.
Everybody loved both dishes. The beef fritters were devoured while they were fresh and hot, and everyone said the frittata was delicious.
Grant has a giant sweet tooth, so his go-to recipes are often biscuits and slices, but he’s hoping to cook a tasty roast lamb with gravy for lunch soon. We’re sure his housemates are looking forward to that!
