Aruma invited the community to tour our new accessible homes in Mildura.
Aruma has responded to demand for more diverse housing for people with disability in the Mildura area, delivering a variety of modern, safe and accessible homes.
Aruma has partnered with Property Trends and a local specialist disability accommodation (SDA) provider, SDA Residential, to offer access to a variety of three-bedroom purpose-built homes plus supports.
Martin Laverty, Aruma’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “It’s no secret that there’s an ongoing demand for housing across the country and in the Mildura region. We know that currently there are at least 25 people with a disability in Mildura looking for a suitable property.
“It’s also a challenging time for the disability sector, with many disability providers not able to continue their operations. Aruma offers NDIS participants across the Mildura region continuity of care, along with expert staff trained in complex care, mental health, and positive behaviour support.
“Our goal is to support people with disability to live the life that they want and choose. These homes have been designed to support independence and honour personal choice, with accessibility and liveability in mind, and to provide the level of support our participants need.”
The day was a great success with the community coming down to check out the new accessible homes.
We also had the local paper, Sunraysia Daily, cover the story before the event and they also attended on the day.
Aruma’s General Manager Business Development, Sandra Pointon, also did an interview with the ABC.
