Lucas puts his green thumb to good use

Our Facilities Services business make the dream work with team work on this landscaping project.

Supported Employee Lucas recently impressed Sydney steel mill company InfraBuild with his landscaping skills, while helping on a project in Rooty Hill.

Lucas was joined by Operations Manager Wade Cameron and Service Delivery Supervisor Jono Goonan to help plant 60 native Cumberland Plains trees near InfraBuild’s steel mill to beautify the area. Aruma will continue working with InfraBuild to maintain the trees, with scope for further projects in future.

Lucas – who works in our Facilities Services business – really enjoyed working on this project.

I enjoy getting a chance to be part of the gardening/landscape industry, working with great team members and being able to work in the west and south-west areas of Sydney, Lucas said.

It was interesting to have Infrabuild employees give positive comments on the work we were doing on site and also have them thank us.

InfraBuild’s EGM of Manufacturing Shane Murphy said the company was proud to be working with an organisation like Aruma, which shares similar community-minded values.

InfraBuild’s mission is to build futures through sustainable steel. This extends beyond our core businesses of recycling, manufacturing and distributing sustainable steel, and into our role as an employer local people and our support of hundreds of Australian communities, Shane said.

Aruma does great work providing opportunities for people with a disability to work across a range of projects and this tree planting project at our Rooty Hill site is a great example of the outstanding ongoing services their team provides.

We look forward to working with Aruma on more projects in the future, not only in Rooty Hill but at our many other sites across the country.
