Are you keen to join our Human Rights Advisory Committee?

We’re inviting potential new members to trial our committee meetings.

June 4, 2024

We’re thrilled to announce that the Human Rights Advisory Committee (HRAC) is seeking new members.

The team are specifically looking for Aruma participants, family members, and carers from various programs including Flexible Supports, Home and Living, Supported Employees, and Children’s Services to join our committee. Our aim is to amplify the voices of participants and families in supporting Human Rights.

The HRAC focuses on three key objectives:

  • Advocating for change in the sector
  • Co-designing research initiatives
  • Advising the Board on significant Human Rights issues for Aruma

Curious about what the Committee does? We are inviting interested individuals to join us online as observers at our upcoming meeting on August 2nd. This is a great opportunity to see if you’d like to be part of our team, who meets four times a year.

If you’re passionate about human rights, eager to make a difference, unafraid to speak up, and committed to challenging the status quo, then we need YOU!

To express your interest or for more information on how to apply to become a member, please email Judy Topper at and Elyce Shearer at They will provide you with further details on the application process.
