An important update about easing of restrictions for the Greater Brisbane area and what this means for Aruma's services.
This morning the Queensland Government announced that there were no new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. As a result, from 6pm tonight, 11 January, restrictions will be eased for the Greater Brisbane area (Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay Region, Redland).
Changes will be in place until 1am on 22 January. You can find more information on the Queensland Government website.
A summary of the changes include:
The Queensland Government has recommended that you wear a mask when outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5m distance from other people. If in doubt, wear a mask!
From 6pm tonight, 11 January until 1am, 22 January, all of our staff in Greater Brisbane will continue to wear masks both indoors and outdoors.
No visitors are allowed to any of our SILs in Greater Brisbane, unless it is for an essential reason such as providing care and support.
Our Children’s Services will follow the same protocols as our SIL homes mentioned above.
Our Community Hubs (also known as day services or day programs) in Greater Brisbane will re-open on Tuesday 12 January. Numbers will be limited per session so please check with local staff.
We will be limiting indoor activities in the community wherever possible. Outdoor activities will continue.
Staff will be wearing masks at all times and customers will be encouraged to wear masks when indoors.
Flexible Supports (including community participation) will continue as per normal. When we go out into the community, we will wear masks. Our customers will need to wear masks too.
If a customer is not able to wear a mask when outside, we will consider alternative arrangements such as rescheduling our activity.
Staff will wear masks when transporting customers to external activities.
All our offices in Greater Brisbane will re-open on Tuesday 12 January.
We have some Facility Services crews who work out and about in this area. They will continue to operate with COVID-safe protocols in place.
Anyone who has been in Greater Brisbane (City of Brisbane, City of Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay Region and Redland City) on or after 2 January 2021, unless 14 days have passed since the person left Greater Brisbane, must not enter any of our SILs or Children’s Services throughout Queensland.
The Queensland Government is encouraging everyone to get tested if they have even slightest symptoms. A list of testing locations can be on the Queensland Government website.
