Important Qld COVID-19 update

An important update about easing of restrictions for the Greater Brisbane area and what this means for Aruma's services.

January 11, 2021

This morning the Queensland Government announced that there were no new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. As a result, from 6pm tonight, 11 January, restrictions will be eased for the Greater Brisbanearea (Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay Region, Redland).

Changes will be in place until 1am on 22 January. You can find more information on the Queensland Government website.

A summary of the changes include:

  • You are now able to leave your home for any reason.
  • You must carry a mask with you at all times. You must wear a mask in indoor spaces, except in your home. Indoor spaces include:
    • shopping centres, supermarkets, retail outlets and indoor markets
    • hospitals
    • places of worship such as churches
    • libraries
    • indoor recreational facilities and gyms
    • indoor workplaces (where you can’t socially distance)
    • public transport such as buses and taxis
    • airports and travelling on planes.

The Queensland Government has recommended that you wear a mask when outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5m distance from other people. If in doubt, wear a mask!
