We are thrilled to have been awarded a high profile recycling tender with Lismore City Council, NSW, managing the sorting operations at its Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).

The tender is a major boost to disability employment in the local area. Our Executive General Manager of Businesses, Brett Lacey says, “It is exciting that Lismore City Council (LCC) have committed to a model that supports the employment of people with a disability. We are looking forward to partnering with them on this project.”

The new MRF facility and the tender of its operations has been a high profile project in the Northern Rivers community and highly competitive amongst regional disability services. This partnership with LCC highlights our strong reputation in the region and our expertise in diverse industries.

The contract is secured for an initial two year period which will create employment for eight people with a disability and one or two supervisors.

The MRF will process around 15,000 tonnes of recyclables each year using state-of-the-art systems and equipment to recover recyclables from the yellow-topped bin and from recycling drop-off centres.
