Lisa and Linda from an Ormeau Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) home are looking for a new co-tenant.

Finding a new housemate can be challenging. Everyone has different interests, schedules, goals, and favourite ice cream flavours. But just like how vanilla, chocolate and strawberry make up the delicious neapolitan ice cream – embracing our differences can make for a perfect blend of housemates.

Lisa and Linda currently live in their Ormeau Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) home, and they are on the hunt for a new co-tenant. You can learn more about the brand-new fully accessible home here.

When asked what she wants in a roommate, Lisa said, “Someone who will treat me nicely and respectfully. I don’t want them to touch my things, and I’d like them to let me have my personal space when I need it.”

While she loves to socialise and joke around, Lisa, who is 35 years young, also enjoys living as independently as possible. She takes pride in her belongings and room and wants to live with people who respect that.

Some of Lisa’s other interests are jewellery making, watching movies, and spending time with family. I think we can all agree with Lisa on her biggest dislike, which is COVID-19.

Spending time in the community is also what her co-tenant Linda likes to do with her free time. You’ll often catch her on the way to the shops, coffee catch-ups with friends, or local sightseeing.

“Linda has a bubbly and outgoing personality. She loves to talk about things happening in her life and values when people spend one-on-one time with her. She would love her new co-tenant to become a new friend,” said Manager Shared Living Samantha Preece.

At 55, Linda likes to unwind on Wednesday and Sunday with her “dedicated bourbon nights.” As a music lover, she also enjoys going to pubs and clubs.
