The Great Wall of China

Is the Great Wall of China on your bucket list? Do you want to raise money to change the lives of people with a disability?

If you answered ‘yes’ to either or both of those questions then The Great Wall of China Challenge is right up your alley.

Here’s what the challenge involves…

On this nine-day adventure, you’ll discover the ancient heart of China as you trek the Great Wall and explore this beautiful part of Asia.

You’ll start your journey in Beijing where you’ll meet your fellow teammates and explore some of this bustling city. Here you’ll also visit the Forbidden City, the complex that once served as the Chinese Imperial Palace and learn about the solemn history of Tiananmen Square.

Going from the modern skyline of Beijing to the fields and farmlands near the Taipingzhai Gate, you’ll begin your trek along the Great Wall. You’ll wander over mountain ridges and valleys, see the river canals of the ancient water town of Gubei and the watchtowers of the Mutianyu Great Wall.

With the support of your fellow teammates and expert guide, it’ll be a challenge but well worth it as you’ll be making a positive difference in the lives of people with a disability.

A special note just for you…

The coronavirus was unexpected. And while the outbreak’s epicentre is a long way from the Great Wall, the current travel advice for China means that we have to work on a plan b.

We’ve decided to adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach until June. This means the adventure will go ahead as planned.
If travel warmings, and the spread of the virus, do not reduce sufficiently by June, we’ll offer either an equally-exhilarating alternative destination, or delay the China adventure in consultation with you.

Rest assured, your health and well-being are a priority, and we’re taking all the necessary legal, security and medical advice we need to ensure of this.

So, please don’t hold off, jump on board, start fundraising and change the lives of people with a disability!
