Social and Community Participation for children

Your child can live their best life and make loads of new friends, master a new hobby, take part in a group sport, and much more!

What are Social and Community Participation services?

Social and Community services, under the NDIS, are about supporting adults and children with a disability to take part in their community.

This could look like playing a game of cricket, learning to play the piano, or simply hanging out with their new mates!

Social and Community Participation at Aruma

At Aruma (formerly House with No Steps and The Tipping Foundation), there are so many ways for your child to meet other kids, try new things and most importantly – have fun!

And the best part is they can take part in Social and Community Participation services in the comfort of their own home, or out in the local area.

And with our trained and experienced disability support staff, you can relax knowing your child’s support needs will be met.

What activities will my child get to do?

It’s completely up to you and your child. What would they like to try? What skill would you love them to learn?

We have a whole range of activities for all kids and all ages and tastes – no matter if they are creative, sporty, artsy, or even a bit shy.

They might decide they’d love to play sport, or learn how to paint. Maybe they want to try a new hobby such as dancing, fishing, or learning how to cook.

Or, does hanging out with some friends for a movie marathon sound more like their thing? They can choose!

Does Aruma offer group programs?

We sure do! Kids can get together out in the community to enjoy all sorts of group activities such as BBQs, outdoor games, movies, indoor rock-climbing and much more.

How about camps?

Due to COVID-19 we had to stop running our children’s camps, but we are looking to start these up again. We are currently taking expressions of interest, so please give us a call on 1300 538 746 to find out more.

Does Aruma have Social and Community Participation for adults too?

Yes! We have both services for children and services for adults.
