Spring has sprung with a special garden makeover

Dale and Tenille – two Aruma customers from Ourimbah on the New South Wales Central Coast – are over-the-moon with a makeover of their backyard.

The makeover came courtesy of Lendlease employees. They rolled up their sleeves as part of their Community Day program, which is all about making a difference to their communities.

And, make a difference is exactly what they did.

“We love making connections with organisations, and people, in our communities. It’s great for the people we support – like Dale and Tenille – and also great for the communities,” said Karen Burke, Aruma’s Customer Engagement Manager.

“We’re very grateful to Lendlease for spending the day with us and helping us transform our property. Dale and Tenille now have an amazing backyard all thanks to Lendlease.”

Lendlease generously funded and provided the people-power to:

• install a paved path that will give access to the new raised garden beds
• build a sensory garden, which was designed by the Lendlease horticultural team
• install a large panel mural – install a large panel mural
• put in a new fish pond with fountain, and the planting of some citrus trees
• paint existing furniture, repair and painting of the porch fence and gates

“Community Days have become a great part of our history and culture. Projects are sourced and initiated by Lendlease employees. It’s all about finding ways we can lend a hand and where we can be most helpful in our local communities,” said Stephen Ross, Lendlease’s Erina Fair Centre Manager.

“It’s great to make such a positive difference to the lives of the residents and staff of Aruma. We hope they enjoy the outdoor spaces we created for them for many years to come.”

From the smiles on faces all-round, we’re sure they will!
