As at 4:30pm on Tuesday 28 July 2020, Aruma has 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Victoria. The seven staff and three customers diagnosed with COVID-19 are all linked to one property in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.

Our staff are following all policies and procedures in an attempt to minimise further infections. These staff and customers are now in isolation, as are those staff who may have been exposed on shift. They are awaiting test results.

The house is shared by six customers. Three have returned a positive COVID-19 result, but all are isolating in accordance with Government advice and protocols. Aruma is working closely with the Department of Health and Human Services to monitor the situation.

Andrew Richardson, CEO of Aruma said, “The welfare and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown, once again, how committed our staff are to their customers. They have shown great dedication and resourcefulness in keeping our customers safe and well, and in supporting them compassionately and creatively through lengthy lockdown periods.”

Andrew said, “Our staff are following stringent processes to keep our customers and each other safe. While these positive cases are deeply concerning, we are taking all possible measures to minimise exposure and maintain our customers’ safety and wellbeing. We are continuing to monitor the situation very closely.”
