Have you snacked on an Aussie Biscuits bikkie when staying at a hotel? If not yet, you soon might!
Aruma’s beloved Aussie Biscuits is growing by the day, with more staff and big companies wanting a taste of its crumbly action.
Over the last 12 months, the popular business, which is based in Forbes, New South Wales (NSW), has welcomed four more Team Leaders to work with 27 Supported Employees. They’ve also struck ongoing deals with accommodation providers including Rex Hotel in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and three Ingenia Holiday Parks on the NSW coast.
To put even more on their tray, in February, biscuit sales grew 33 per cent, compared to the same month last year. This was the strongest sales month for the business so far.
Aussie Biscuits Business Manager Brett Thompson is excited to see where the business will go next.
We’re just so proud of how far we’ve come and how much traction we’ve managed to get with big businesses across Australia, Brett says.
Quite a few of our staff like to stay at some of the places we sell biscuits to, and they’re chuffed to see our colourful little packets stocked in accommodation rooms.
Some places are ordering multiple boxes a month, so it’s a steady income stream that we reinvest into supports for our Supported Employees and Aruma customers more broadly.
To further build its hotel and accommodation customer base, Aussie Biscuits will sponsor the No Vacancy Hotel and Accommodation Industry Expo in Sydney in September, which expects to see 6000 people through the doors over two days.
This is one of the biggest expos of its kind in Australia, so we’re looking forward to standing out as the main sponsor with everyone walking through the front doors getting an Aussie Biscuits show bag, Brett says.

These are the sorts of opportunities that we hope will help us to bring more commercial customers on board, which allows us to ramp up our growth.
The bigger we grow, the more we can support people with a disability living in Forbes with Supported Employment and other supports they may need to live the life they choose.
Team Leader Angie White is the newest member of the Aussie Biscuits team, joining in April this year.
I really enjoy working with our wonderful Supported Employees who are all talented and passionate about their roles, Angie says.

When I’m able to help someone out with a trickier task or just put a smile on their face if they’re having a bad day, it’s so rewarding and I do feel like I’m making a difference.
Aussie Biscuits is one of eight businesses run by Aruma, offering Supported Employment to 500 people with a disability.
