Drouin house going for Gold!

Check out how our Victorian participants have been celebrating the 2024 Paris Olympics.

August 23, 2024

Our participants over at Drouin, in the West Gippsland region of Victoria, love any excuse to decorate their house! It’s no surprise that they have pulled out the green and gold to celebrate their pride for Australia in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games…

Let’s hear a big ol “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi.”

“Frenchy our House mascot loves a good occasion to participate in and the Olympics is no exception. Olympics fever has hit our house, and we had lot of craft activity going on. Of course, Person-Centred Active Support and the Olympic Spirit is in the air,” said Manager Shared Living, Jennifer North.

The crew have been enjoying hand making the decorations for Frenchy and taking turns to decorate and take photos of him in his new Olympic gear. If you haven’t seen it already, check out their previous decorations for Frenchy here.

They have also been watching the events and cheering on the Australian competitors.

“The guys really enjoyed watching the swimming, skateboarding, pole-vault and kayaking just to name a few. We all agree that despite what your favourite event is, just participating and doing your best, makes our Olympians winners,” shared Jennifer.

What a lovely message!

The Paris 2024 Paralympics are kicking off on the 28th of August and will run through till the 8th of September. The Drouin house are very excited to watch some of the action and see some our Aussie Paralympians take home gold medals!
